Ottumwa Leadership Academy is busy preparing for its 2013-2014 academy class. “We are moved into our new location, the façade sign is up, and we are finalizing details for this year’s class,” stated Hollie Tometich, Executive Director of Ottumwa Leadership Academy.
The new location – 113 East Main Street – has been completely renovated on the lower level and will host most of its classes, alumni events, and other special functions. “Our main area will operate as our ‘classroom’ but it doesn’t have the typical classroom feel. It’s set up as a more urban gathering area that has several set-up options based on what we are doing at any given time. When we aren’t in session, we will have alumni offerings and other leadership educational opportunities for the community. We are excited to welcome the public to our new space.”
A Chamber Ambassador Ribbon Cutting and Open House will be from 4 – 6 p.m. on Tuesday, August 27th, which is open to the public.
Ottumwa Leadership Academy will be welcoming their first class to the new building this fall. The Academy has accepted 24 participants this year – which is an increase from the 18 that graduated last spring. “We are pleased with the level of interest our community has in getting a deeper understanding of how our community operates and developing their leadership skills,” stated Tometich.
The Academy also invites the public to “Like” their Facebook page to keep up with the latest happenings. www.facebook.com/pages/Ottumwa-Leadership-Academy
