The Ottumwa Regional Legacy Foundation is pleased to announce that it will be accepting applications to its Laboratory Control Ltd. Health Career Scholarship Program for the 2020-2021 school year beginning February 1, 2020. This scholarship program was developed in 2004 by the Ottumwa Regional Health Foundation to support students pursuing degrees or accreditation in a health care related field. The goal of the scholarship program is to build relationships and provide support for local medical professionals in the hope that they will someday return to our community to practice. Since 2004, the program has provided nearly $397,000 in scholarship support to students from 36 communities in southeast Iowa
Eligible applicants must reside in one of the following counties in Iowa: Appanoose, Davis, Jasper, Jefferson, Henry, Keokuk, Mahaska, Monroe, Van Buren and Wapello. Qualified applicants must also be enrolled in a state or nationally accredited program of study that focuses on an eligible health care field, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher, and have at least 30 hours of college level course credit. Scholarship awards are paid directly to the successful applicant’s college or university and may be used for education expenses, including tuition, books and other fees. Applicants may submit application online here, no paper applications will be accepted. The deadline for application submission is midnight on March 31, 2020.
