When we say Agenda for Action we put the emphasis on action
We started by engaging in hundreds of community conversations and pouring over dozens of planning studies and documents to help us identify what the needs of our community truly were. Next, we began partnering with our non-profit organizations to support them in their ongoing work. We continue to do all of this and more, now with a clear and focused strategic vision. Direct Strategic Grants
These grants are focused within one of our strategic areas; Jobs, Education, Revitalization, Infrastructure and Leadership.
Bright Ideas Community Enrichment Fund Grants
These grants support our not-for-profit partners by investing in projects that enrich the quality of life for the residents of Ottumwa and Wapello County.
Nonprofit Capacity Support Programs
The Legacy Foundation is focused on creating an inclusive Capacity Building Program designed to provide education, expertise and support to strengthen the nonprofit sector of Wapello County.
McCune Endowment Grants
In honor of Robert F. McCune, these grants are used to assist cancer patients, facilities and programs.
Scholarships
We provide scholarship support for individuals residing in Appanoose, Davis, Jasper, Jefferson, Henry, Keokuk, Mahaska, Monroe, Van Buren and Wapello counties interested in pursuing a career in health care.
