The ultimate goal is to drive more traffic to the OACVB website, therefore increasing awareness of local businesses and increasing visitor spending in Ottumwa. The current website not built on a user-friendly framework and lacks visual appeal so we are not able to utilize it as a marketing tool. Tourism marketing trends indicate that the internet is a visitor's first option to find needed information. Our current website is under performing with a poor framework which limits what upgrades we can do from our office. Additional challenges include that we cannot put apostrophes on the site, there is not a reoccurring calendar, and the responsive design is poor. Also, the website doesn't provide pertinent information to all our target markets. The design of the proposed website will be inline with national market standards. 2016

These activities enrich lives by helping connect community members to information and other individuals. Primary users will be students and adults who do not have access to computers, internet, or a printer in their home. Having access, and knowing how to find, evaluate and use information ethically are the cornerstone of an information-literate society.
