With the recent grant awards provided in the Spring, 2016 cycle, the Bright Ideas Community Enrichment Fund has surpassed the $2,000,000 mark in support to nonprofit organizations providing service in Wapello County.
A new partnership with ORLF, Iowa State University and ISU Extension and Outreach will be studying how transportation impacts residents’ abilities to access essential services in Ottumwa and Wapello County.
The ERT can be deployed for any situation that requires a police response that could likely result in serious injury and/or death to citizens or officers. Due to the types of situations ERT members can encounter specialty vests are necessary.
A recent gift of $9,000 from the Ottumwa Regional Legacy Foundation was awarded to Children & Families of Iowa (CFI) and the Community Partnership for Protecting Children (CPPC) to support critical services .
Since its inception in 2011, the Bright Ideas Community Enrichment Fund program has awarded over $1.9 million dollars through 159 grants to 76 different non-profit organizations in Wapello County.
