The Ottumwa Regional Legacy Foundation is proud to announce the names of their newest Bright Ideas Community Enrichment Fund partners as ten grants totaling $140,056 were recently awarded to non-profit organizations doing work in Wapello County. The following lists the organizations and their funded project amounts:
Bridge View Center – Grant to purchase video projection system: $11,525
Ecumenical Lords Cupboard – Grant to be used to purchase 2 new refrigerators and various food items: $10,000
Eddyville Community Foundation – Funding to support the purchase and installation of playground equipment in Eddyville Central Park: $20,000
Friends of the Eddyville Public Library – Funding to purchase technology equipment for the Eddyville Public Library: $5,356
Gothic Area Tourism of Eldon – Grant to be used to for purchase and installation of a new room for the historic Lockkeeper’s House. $10,000
Gothic Area Tourism of Eldon – Funding to be used to support expenses related to the purchase and installation of playground equipment and splash pad in Eldon Playground Park: $25,000
Latinas/Latinos Al Exito – Funding provided to support Ottumwa chapter of Latinas/Latinos Al Exito mentoring program: $17,095
Main Street Ottumwa – Purchase and installation of self-watering hanging baskets for downtown district: $4,080
Pleasant Valley Manor – Funding to provide infrastructure improvements for Pleasant Valley Manor, an affordable option for senior and disabled housing in Eddyville: $30,000
Starr Workforce – Funding to be utilized as a match to the City of Ottumwa approved roof grant: $7,000
Applicants interested in obtaining funding may apply online at www.orlf.org from February 1 – 28. Eligible applicants must be a 501(c)3 organization providing services in Wapello County. To date, the Bright Ideas Community Enrichment Fund has provided 125 grants totaling $1,508,748 to area not-for-profit organizations.
