Hello!
I am pleased to be in Ottumwa! It is an honor to be selected as President & CEO of The Legacy Foundation.
The Legacy Foundation is unique. Very few, if any other smaller cities in the nation have a private foundation focused, as we are, on key elements that will advance our economy and community, and leads in initiating important discussions and projects. The opportunity to lead this unique organization quickly piqued my interest.
I’m a Midwesterner, and I have built my career working in the Midwest, in various business, non-profit, and public roles, to build economies and communities. Most of those communities share a lot with Ottumwa. The Foundation offers me an opportunity to apply the experience and skills gained over my career to work for you – for us. Spending time in Ottumwa during the interview process – it immediately felt like home.
Donita and I will be full time Ottumwa residents by the end of July. We’re looking forward to becoming a part of the community, and I am so pleased to lead the Foundation team, a group of professionals who get up every day to make Ottumwa a better place to work, live, learn, and enjoy life.
Most of all, I look forward to working with you on projects and programs that will create jobs and increase our quality housing supply, continue the revitalization and development of our Downtown, and better prepare our students of every and any age to thrive in the workplace.
In my email signature line, you’ll see this quote, “Capital will go where it’s welcome and stay where it’s well-treated. Capital is not just money, it’s also talent and ideas.” Let’s work together to ensure Ottumwa is a place where capital in all its forms is welcomed, stays and grows, and we thrive, together.
